Peak Music Experiences

It will be important for those interested in (cultural) sociological studies of (popular) music. This book presents the first dedicated scholarly investigation of the phenomenon from a social and cultural perspective. The book draws from both global media analysis and situated ethnographic research in the dance, hip hop, indie and rock ‘n’ roll music scenes of Brisbane, Australia, including participant observation and in-depth interviews. It is likely to be of special interest in the sub- and inter-disciplinary fields of popular music, interpretive biography and the life course, memory, affect and emotions, audience/reception/fandom, and performance studies.
